NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to your neurology; Linguistic refers to language; programming refers to how that neural language functions. In other words, learning NLP is like learning the language of your own mind!
In NLP, we have a saying: the conscious mind is the goal setter, and the unconscious mind is the goal getter. Your unconscious mind is not out to get you rather, it's out TO GET FOR YOU whatever you want in life. In fact, go ahead right now and think if there was one thing you could change, one habit you could break, what would it be?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is like a user's manual for the brain. NLP is the study of excellent communication both with yourself, and with others. It was developed by modeling excellent communicators and therapists who got results with their clients. NLP is a set of tools and techniques, but it is so much more than that. It is an attitude and a methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.
As human beings, we can never know reality. We can only know our perceptions of reality. Stress is impacted by your perception of reality. We experience and respond to the world around us primarily through our sensory representational systems. It is our 'neuro-linguistic maps of reality that determine how we behave and that give those behaviors meaning, not reality itself. It is generally not reality that limits us or empowers us, but rather our map of reality.
The processes that take place within a human being and between human beings and their environment are systemic. Our bodies, our societies, and our universe form an ecology of complex systems and sub-systems all of which interact with and mutually influence each other. It is not possible to completely isolate any part of the system from the rest of the system. Such systems are based on certain 'self-organizing' principles and naturally seek optimal states of balance or homeostasis.
Time Line Therapy® is a process of active imagination. It is based on the concept that it is important to clear negative emotions and beliefs that surround events from the past in order to change patterns of behaviour in the future. When a current event occurs that reminds you of the past, you may find yourself behaving like you did when you were a child which can make you feel disempowered and un-resourceful. This can cause significant stress in your life. When you heal these events, you find that you have all your adult resources available and can think clearly and objectively and make decisions that serve you well.
Time Line Therapy® can clear complex structures of emotions and beliefs at the one time. It also focuses on the complex programming of our parents, which can limit our potential with careers, money and relationships. I am always amazed at how many of our parents habits and beliefs are embedded in our unconscious mind and can affect behaviours that seem unrelated.
When you store your emotions in your unconscious mind they form a gestalt, or memory file based on a common theme or emotion. When the gestalt is triggered, all the associated emotions from the events that were created it became present in the moment, whether the current event warrants it or not. Gestalts are the structure of what is commonly called 'emotional baggage'. The beauty of Time Line Therapy® is that you can heal major issues in your life relatively quickly no matter what your religious or spiritual beliefs may be.
Time Line Therapy® can get rid of limiting decisions and negative emotions at the one time. Time Line Therapy® can also focuses on the complex programming of our parents, which can limit our potential with careers, money and relationships. I am always amazed at how many of our parents habits and beliefs are embedded in our unconscious mind and can affect behaviors that seem unrelated.
